Cosmetics & Customization
- A new era of self-expression has arrived with an expanded range of avatar customization options for all players.
- Bandit Mask and Side Knot (Variant)
- Blindfold with Thick (Variant)
- Bandage Blindfold with Thick, Left Eye, and Right Eye (Variants)
- Vampire Mouth, Cute Mouth, and Orc Mouth for unique facial expressions.
- White color added to fantasy cotton cosmetic colors, offering more versatility.
- Visual enhancements for the following haircuts:
- Single Side Pigtail
- Hair Stick Bun
- Simple Bobcut
- Fighter Buns
- Smart Elven
- Windswept
- New armor slot visibility toggles allow easy access to equipped armor from the character panel, with server hosts able to disable/enable this feature for PvP/Immersion purposes.
- Improved animations for capes while the player is running, adding a dynamic touch to character movement.
Gameplay & Balance
- A new item has been introduced, enabling users to raise skeletal minions from nearby bone piles, adding a layer of strategy to combat.
- The Large Praetorian Skeleton now has a chance to drop this item.
- Adamantite mining now requires a Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe, with mining and pickaxe progression adjusted accordingly.
- Lower-tier pickaxes deal significantly less damage to higher-tier ore blocks, balancing the game's resource management.
- Upgrading to a higher-quality pickaxe reduces the number of hits required for mining.
- Adamantite Ore now necessitates either a Thorium or Cobalt pickaxe for extraction.
- Polar Bears have been buffed, adding more excitement to exploration.
- Additional decorative light recipes have been introduced to the furniture bench, enhancing the player's crafting options.
- The following NPCs will now drop Medium Hide instead of Light Hide:
- Bison, Boar, Cow, Horse, and Warthog.
- The Magma Toad has been adjusted, with Tongue damage significantly reduced and the creature now alternating between its Tongue attack and a new ability: Headbutt.
- Petals are now craftable in the furniture bench under the Textiles category, making them renewable resources.
- Yellow Petals can be farmed from growing Sunflower Seeds, ensuring a sustainable supply.
- All crafting requirements for different-colored petals utilize renewable resources, promoting eco-friendly gameplay.
- Lighter variants for each Cloth Block can now be crafted using a combination of Petals, offering more customization options.
World Generation
- WorldGen V2 has been prepared for public documentation, aiding modders in their creative endeavors.
- New Default_Flat and Default_Void templates have been added using World Gen V2, offering fresh and diverse landscapes.
- The Creative Hub Portal now spawns with World Gen V2 flat worldgen, resulting in clear weather and limited fog, but only in new creative worlds.
- A major refactor of ore placement in all zones has been implemented, requiring players to explore new chunks for old worlds to discover this change.
- This results in more ores, especially in Devastated Lands undergrounds, adding depth to the world generation.
Farming
- Eternal crops are now more resilient, no longer breaking from accidental weapon damage.
- Increased tilled soil lifetime, lasting longer between 1.2 to 1.5 days.
- Fixed soil decay under fully grown crops, ensuring a more stable farming experience.
- Players can now hold torches in their offhand while using the Hoe and Seeds, adding versatility to farming tasks.
- Breaking fully grown Eternal crops will drop their Seeds back, promoting efficient resource management.
- Harvested crops can now be placed on the ground when crouching, enhancing the player's mobility during farming.
- Recipe requirement costs have been adjusted for Hoes, making them more accessible at different farming bench tiers.
- Copper is now Tier 2 instead of Tier 4.
- Iron is now Tier 4 instead of Tier 8.
- Thorium has been added at Tier 6, offering new opportunities for resource gathering.
UI / UX
- Improved editor block tooltip descriptions for better clarity and understanding.
- Tooltips now display the name of colors when hovering over color options in the Avatar Customization menu, enhancing the player's experience.
- Enhanced the visibility of the hotbar active-slot by increasing contrast and adding a diamond indicator, making it easier to see in brighter environments like the Howling Sands.
- The categories of Memories are now sorted alphabetically when viewed via "The Heart Of Orbis", improving navigation.
- Scripted Brush QoL improvements have been implemented, adding new features and streamlining existing ones.
- Added missing entries to filters and removed invalid blocks from filters, ensuring a more efficient workflow.
- Fixed various bugs in existing scripted brushes, enhancing stability.
- Added decoration and cave brushes, offering more creative options.
- Removed redundant scripted brushes, simplifying the interface.
- Updated the JumpIfBlockType node to use a single offset instead of a list of offsets, improving performance.
- Inventory interaction updates have been implemented, including better double-click handling and Shift + Clicking on armor for direct equipment, streamlining the player's workflow.
- QERT shortcut keybinds have been added for the inventory "quick actions" (put all, pull all, quickstack, and sort), making navigation faster.
- Shortcuts now display in the tooltip when hovering over "quick action" buttons, providing clear instructions.
- An "FPS counter overlay" option has been added to the settings menu under General > User Interface, displaying the current FPS in the top right corner of the game when enabled.
- Various improvements to player markers have been made, including displaying them on the compass and removing the "Player: " prefix from the player markers on the map, ensuring a cleaner interface.
- Added toggle buttons for map/compass visibility in the maps player list, allowing players to customize their view.
- Players at different heights will have a different icon (up/down indicators) in the compass, enhancing navigation.
- Added Ophidiophobia accessibility mode under Gameplay > Accessibility, transforming Snake models into Hatworms for players with specific accessibility needs.
Audio & Visual Effects
- All missing basic Rex sounds have been added, enhancing the game's audio experience.
- Updated the bones item drag/drop inventory sound for better clarity.
- Fixed a bug in a Howling Sands cave track, ensuring a seamless audio experience.
- Updated all food particle tints, adding more visual appeal to in-game food items.
Bug Fixes, Tech & Stability
- A server auto-update system has been introduced, including configuration options and new commands for update management, ensuring a smooth and efficient update process.
- A new UpdateModulecore plugin has been added and integrated into the server boot process, allowing the server to check for and apply updates, notify players, and handle staged updates.
- UpdateConfig in HytaleServerConfig has been updated with fields for enabling updates, check intervals, notification preferences, patchline selection, backup options, and auto-apply modes, offering greater control over the update process.
- A new shutdown reason ShutdownReason.UPDATE has been added to indicate when the server should restart to apply a staged update.
- New commands and detailed server messages have been implemented for checking, downloading, applying, and managing updates, including player notifications and auto-apply warnings, ensuring a transparent update process.
- The release workflow has been updated to include launcher scripts (start.sh, start.bat), enhancing the deployment process.
- Improvements to rendering shadows have been made to fix various issues, ensuring a more stable and visually appealing game.
- Fixed middle click "pick block" when the hotbar is full in creative mode, allowing players to access new items more easily.
- The Asset Editor will now display documentation in tooltips, providing clear instructions for players.
- Issues with Mantling detection have been fixed, resolving unintended behaviors and enhancing gameplay stability.
- A fix has been implemented to persist cleared keybinds across sessions, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Adjustments have been made to improve weather transitions, reducing jarring visuals and enhancing the overall atmosphere.
- More improvements will be made in future updates.
- Fixed an issue when using teleporters to avoid accidental collisions by applying an offset, ensuring a safer gameplay experience.
- Rail carts now consume and place properly, enhancing their functionality.
- Bed respawning in unloaded chunks has been fixed, resolving an issue where collision checks always failed if there were no loaded chunks.
- Major server stability, validation, ECS, localization, and timeout improvements have been made, ensuring a more reliable and responsive server.
- Refilling containers now targets the closest block of water rather than requiring players to aim at a block behind/under water, streamlining the process.
- Fixed some types of items displaying oversized placement previews, enhancing the user interface.
- Fixed an issue with the Berserker haircut texture tiling, ensuring a consistent visual experience.
- Fixed glasses textures from inheriting the cosmetic color on their lens highlights, allowing for more precise customization.
- Added permissions for world map teleporting, preventing players from sending packets to the server and teleporting anywhere without Op, enhancing server security.
- Emerald Wilds dungeon and other environments have been fixed, with potential new soundtracks added for an immersive experience.
- Fixed sending player marker updates while the map isn't open, ensuring a seamless experience.
- Fixed player markers flickering when hovered on the map, enhancing the user interface.
- Other players' names are now more readable when zoomed in on the map, improving visibility.
