President Museveni's Message of Peace and Progress in Bushenyi and Sheema
In a powerful address to the people of Bushenyi and Sheema, President Museveni emphasized the importance of cherishing peace and stability in Uganda. He highlighted the region's achievements under the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government, urging voters to support the party in the upcoming elections.
President Museveni, accompanied by First Lady Janet Museveni and senior NRM leaders, spoke at a rally in Bushenyi on [insert date], painting a picture of Uganda's progress and the potential for further development. He began by reflecting on regional conflicts, sharing a personal story of loss and devastation caused by religious and political divisions in Sudan.
"Sudan's suffering is immense due to religious divisions," he said, "and we must treasure peace in Uganda. Our nation once faced similar dangers, but the NRM has restored stability." Museveni emphasized that supporting the NRM is not just about political affiliation; it's about safeguarding personal security and national peace.
The President outlined ambitious development plans for Bushenyi, focusing on infrastructure improvements. He pledged to rehabilitate major roads, including the Mbarara–Bushenyi and Kabwohe–Bugongi–Kitagata routes, to enhance connectivity and stimulate local economic growth.
Education was another key theme. Museveni celebrated the region's educational advancements, noting the establishment of 16 government secondary schools, 155 primary schools, and 65 private secondary schools in Bushenyi. This significant expansion in educational access was a testament to the NRM's commitment to knowledge and skill development.
Addressing concerns about electricity supply, President Museveni assured residents that the national grid is robust. He attributed observed outages to local disconnections and committed to resolving the issue.

In the healthcare sector, Museveni highlighted Sheema's progress, including the establishment of Kitagata Hospital, two HC IVs, and twelve HC IIIs. He announced plans to build Masheruka HC III, upgrade the district hospital, and elevate Kitagata to a regional referral facility, showcasing the NRM's commitment to improving healthcare access and quality.
