Savu Sauna, a beloved Vermont sauna brand, is expanding its reach with the opening of a new 8,000-square-foot bathhouse in Burlington's vibrant Flynn Avenue. This brick-and-mortar location, set to open this fall, will offer both day passes and a membership model, catering to the community's wellness needs. But here's where it gets interesting: Savu's journey began with a single sauna in 2021, and now, they're not just expanding their physical presence, but also their product line, as they design and sell saunas. This growth is fueled by customer loyalty and the success of their three other locations. The new space, located at 208 Flynn Avenue, will feature multiple saunas, a steam room, warm pools, a cold plunge, locker rooms, and lounge areas, providing a comprehensive relaxation experience. The couple behind Savu, Nicole Sweeney and Dave Nelson, are excited to offer this permanent home to their brand, emphasizing it's not a passing trend but a real, tangible community asset built on four years of operating in Vermont. This expansion comes after a similar project, the Silt Botanica Bathhouse, faced challenges and was ultimately canceled due to pollution concerns and high costs. Savu's growth story is an inspiring testament to the power of community-driven wellness initiatives.
